Wooden House's~

Hi girls,

I am finding it a bit hard to post as often as I have in the past.
I thought being out of work would mean "More Time", however that has NOT been the case!!
I have a few iron's in the fire at the mo, so hopefully a part-time job will pop up soon. Long gone are the Full time hours (don't think I could manage that after 15 years part-time!!)but I would like to be able to contribute a bit to the house!!

Today's projects are Altered Art little wooden houses. I picked these up from Samuel Taylor's Stall at Harrogate (well actually 4 of them!). I have really enjoyed making these and my friend Angie and I are giving one of them to a friends Daughter, Amy, for her coming Birthday.
I love putting all the "Findings" in and personalising it, like with these Scrabble Tiles which spell out "Amy's" name! Or in the Christmas version, another Amy and her hubby Dan!
The houses are painted with Adirondack paint dabbers, these colours are Mushroom & Pepper, but they do tons of colours from black to pastel pinks. They are really easy to use, the paint is pushed through a sponge dabber, so nice and easy to paint onto surfaces. I have then used leftover papers to line the inside walls, before adding and making all the Findings to go inside.
I really enjoy making these houses they are very therapeutic, I have a commission to make another two more for a friend, so great stuff!

Hi Debbie, sorry to hear about the playgroup, what a shame, especially with working there for so long!Your houses are brilliant and such a lovely gift.I do hope something pop`s up in the job department soon for you.
Any craft shops near you wanting staff, that would be great wouldn`t it,you wouldn`t be taking much money home though, you`d be wanting to buy all the stuff!!!!

Hi Debbie, I didn't realise that you were out of work, I must have missed an earlier post. I returned to work full time in September after several years doing part time and I have to say it wasn't the best decision I ever made! Hopefully something will come up for you very soon sweetie. Your little houses are just gorgeous - great work. Hugs, Claire x

These little houses are so gorgeous, Debbie - all the little details are just perfect. I'm sure a job will come along soon;your experience of working with children will count for a lot - have you thought about being a classroom assistant? Up here they are always looking for people to do learning support or behaviour support. Tracey x
