Yes that is a RAT!

Hi Ladies~

I have another "Me" Scrap page Layout to show you today and YES! the title does say RAT!

Now this photo is not going to be every body's cup of tea, but I hope after I have told you a little story about it, you will either change your mind or be a little more happier with it!!

So onto the photograph of Me and My Son's pet "Rat" Scoot. Yes I know she has a TAIL, but she was the most wonderful pet ever.
They were clean, so funny, and my children (who had a rat each) used to play proper games with them. I can only describe them as having the intelligence of a small dog, they were a delight, were always wanting to be out the cage playing, the only down side to them was that they only had a lifespan of around 3 years, so tears were shed when after 2years and 10 months in our case.
The fun our family had with these two sweethearts was lovely, and I recommend them to any family. Our vets were very happy with our choice when we suggested it and were delighted to see them for check ups.
Scoot was so loving she liked to be close to your face, I use to sing songs to her and the vibrations from me singing use to keep her still for ages, this photo is taken of me and her together having a play time.
I had several friends who were not convinced by them, until they were around them, then they changed their minds and saw how lovely they were.
Sorry if you are not convinced, hope I ahve not made you cringe!!

I am not sure who makes this lovely paper, I have also used lots of leftover bits n bobs from my stash.

Don't you just love a "Free" stamp?

Hi Girls~

Hope I find you all well, and you do not have any "White Stuff" like we have!!
Arrr...it's just so annoying. I know people like the snow (no one more than me, as a past skier of 8 years) but it is so frustrating when it comes on all of a sudden and then causes nothing but road problems.
I went to St. Moritz skiing once and they had so much snow it was incredible. The height of it on top of cars was almost as high as the car underneath, yet they all managed to get around with NO problems.
Just shows what we are like here, just never seem to be able to cope with it!

My Son's girlfriend is away at Uni and every now and then I send her a little something in the post to keep her smiling.
The card I made today is what I have sent her this time. Inside the card (a little boring, but it had to be done) are a set of Mobile Phone protective covers!!
My Son would take them to her normally, but he is off skiing in the morning. I said I would do it and also send this little card too.
Yesterday I bought a copy of the docrafts Creativity Magazine. I don't usually buy this, but not only was it half price It had a set of 8 stamps free on the cover. This Party Girl stamp was one of them, isn't she cute?

The background papers are all from my leftover stash, the pearls and flowers are from Hobbyhouse, the leaf is a Marianne Die and the image was coloured with Pro-Markers.

I am off to do a bit more crafting now, and watch "Gladiator", my all time favourite film EVER!!
Hubby goes mad with me for watching it as often as I do, I must have seen it 50 times easy!!
Ridley Scott is my favourite Director and what he does with this film is Genius.
Thank you for stopping by.

Tag Time~

Hello Ladies.
What a great bunch of ladies you all are. Your comments are just so lovely, and make Blogging a pleasure. When I am having a bit of a down day, I read your lovely comments and I am instantly perked up, thank you all.

I had a busy day today, so did not get a chance to do any Crafting until after tea.
I am having a great time playing with some Big Tags at the mo, and I have done that again today. This time I have used one of my favourite Tim Holtz dies's, The Sewing Room. I think this dress form is stunning and you can pretty it up in so many ways.

I have inked up a cream coloured tag with Tim's Walnut and Evergreen Bough inks and stamped a swirl, post park and butterfly stamp onto the background. I have then added a Crafty Individuals pre-printed tag over the top, I distressed this up a bit with Walnut stain too.
The dress form I sent through I PP with vintage papers and stamped a butterfly on it, added pearls and old ribbon.
The gorgeous cream lace was a Christmas Pressy off my Friend Angie, it's fab as it has a sticky back, so very easy to use and I think it looks great on here, I have added a few Hobbyhouse pearls in Gold Trio colour and finished with some Paper Artsy green ribbon. I finished by spraying some Antique Linen ink over the top.

Family Layout~

Hello Ladies.
A big Thank You for all the lovely comments you leave for me, I appreciate every single one.

Straight after Christmas I made the decision to start a Scrapbook about "Me"!
Eh... I was not sure I actually wanted to do this (I hate photo's of myself), but the very talented Mel Heaton made one for her Son, after hearing her story I just thought, Yes! that's what I want to do for my Children too. So a few days ago I started collecting photographs and making notes of the Journaling I wanted to put with each picture.

I am lucky that my Mum took a few photo's of me as a baby and toddler, (I was born in 1960, so don't think everyone had a camera!). Although I don't have loads of pictures, I still have several throughout my childhood. Some of the earlier photo's are Black and white (which I love).

The photo on this Layout was taken about 9-10 years ago, the location is very near where we live, we often took the Children there on a weekend to play ball and run off some energy. It also gave Chris and I a chance to have a sit and a cuddle!!

I have followed the Sketch from Creative Scrappers, It was nice to make the Bunting with this Die-Namics bunting die, I used up load of scraps of paper for this.
Unfortunately the papers I have used have the name on the reverse and I did not look at it before I stuck it down!!
The doily is a brand new die I bought Wednesday made by X Cut called "Vintage Notes Doily", this will be useful in both layouts and cards. The other embellishments are from Basic Grey's Marlane collection.
You cannot tell from picture one, but on picture two you will see I have added some hidden journaling.

How Big is that Bunch of Flowers!

It is my Daughter's Birthday in 5 days, she will be 22.
It's hard to believe that's how old she is, she has turned into a lovely girl, such a sensible and super little lady, and she is so good to me, a friend as well as a Daughter.

So this Mo card is made for my Daughter Eve.
I love this Image, just look at that huge bunch of flowers!

I have used some MME papers, a few HobbyHouse pearls, and a new, to me, Cuttle Bug embossing folder that is like a sort of ledger.

Time to Play with Tim's inks~

Hello Ladies~
Wow! Two posts in one day.....Am I ok?

It's ages since I had a "proper" play with Tim Holtz inks. I love them, but don't use them enough, or at least not the gorgeous vibrant colours. I usually just use the Walnut Stain or Black Soot to edge something.
Anyway that has all changed today. I got up and thought I would have a bit of a play.
I must admit I did watch Ali on Create and Craft yesterday and she was doing a similar project, so this is what I came up with after watching how she used the inks, thanks Ali!

A Close up of one of the cards~

I have this MME paper with words on, it is white, but by the time I painted an acrylic block with two different colour inks then spritzed with water, I stamped on the paper to create the backgrounds.
I then used a few of my Nature stamps and stamped them in Black Soot. I then matted them onto matching papers and then chose these small 5x5 Kraft cards to finish them off.
The gorgeous little ticket stamps are Whiff of Joy. Doodling round the edge and a sprinkle of Stickles and they were finished.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Hi Ladies

Hope you are all well. A big thank you for all the lovely comments you have left me, especially the ones asking how I am feeling, finally feel like i am on the mend now.
It is my 28th Wedding Anniversary today. Chris and I are having a nice day together as our two Children are off Skiing in the indoor Chill Factor at Manchester. (They are having a practise as in two weeks they are off to Bulgaria Skiing.

This is my first project for 2013 for the Sweet Stampin' Challenge.
Our challenge is "Gingham", and our sponsors are "Stamp and Create".

As I am not properly back to crafting yet (not been well and finding the energy to craft and do normal housework jobs is a bit hard), I have chosen to do two little ATC'S for this challenge.
I always need ATC'S, as I use them as little business cards to hand out and have all my details printed on the reverse.
So Gingham papers (free in a magazine), and a Brand New Christmas pressy off my lovely friend Angie The Monster Line Up by Stampotique. The other Monster is the KeyKeeper also by Stampotique, don't you just love them!!
All coloured with Pro-Markers and edges inked with Tim's Walnut stain.

January 2013 Calender

Hello Ladies

This is my first post for 2013. I have not been very well over Christmas, but I am on the mend now so have had a little play.
I have not crafted for about 3 weeks so I was a tad rusty.
I was having a look around blogland when I noticed that the talented Kate Crane was doing her Calender Challenge again for 2013, so I thought I would have a go again. I did not get a chance to do them all last year, but I did do a few and I really enjoyed getting inky.
For all the details of the Challenge go here and take a look at Kate's fab blog.

I have chosen to use some Cosmic Shimmer Ink Sprays (I won these with Katy on Scrap 365, if you are a scrapbooker you should check out this magazine, it's fantastic, I just cannot wait for mine to drop on the doormat each month).
I have also used a Paperartsy vintage button stamp, a free star stamp from the December Craft Stamper magazine, and a few stamps from a "Park" collection by American Crafts.
The date squares are cut from a sheet of Basic Grey "Aspen Frost" paper and the edges have been inked with Walnut stain.
I have highlighted with a white posca pen on the stars and in the background I have used a "Crafters workshop" mask which is called mini flower frenzy.
