My Lovely Nana~

Hi Girls,

I am busy with a Scrapbook Commision at the moment, but am waiting on the arrival of a batch of photographs. I thought while I wait I can have a bit of a practice on a couple of my own photo's. (Don't really need to practice, just an excuse to have a bit of a play!!)

This photograph is of Me and my Lovely Nana. Her Birthday is Christmas Day the same as mine (oddly my Dad's Mum had the same Birthday too, so me and two Nana's on Christmas Day!!)
I was 50 (a year and a half ago now) and my Nana was 94.
I saw her this week (she lives with my Mum) and she is doing so well. I sometimes find it hard to believe she is nearly 96.
Her short term memory has only just started to fail her a bit over the last twelve months, but get her talking about her childhood and teenage years and she is as sharp as a razor. Some of her stories are so funny, hearing about how she and her siblings were all out working at the tender age of 14, not much money or food going into the house, yet they were so close and happy.
Makes you wonder where it all went wrong doesn't it?
Money the root of all evil (now who said that I wonder!)

Anyway back to the Scrapbook Page Layout!
I have used some BasicGrey "Little Black Dress" background paper, Paper Salon Swiss dot paper, a sheet of Stampin' up paper (no name on the sheet!) and some Butterfly paper by Prima (one of my favorites at the moment). The Jouralling Square is by Bo-Bunny.
The flowers are a mix of Hobby House flowers from my stash and also the Funstamp Flower by Lindsey Mason. I used this a couple of days ago on a card.
The little dots are Craftwork Card Candy and are my favorite Candy colours they do, so subtle.
The paper Lace is a strip I was given, so don't know where it came from, but it is great to colour with your inks. I have just caught the edges of mine with Tim's Dusty Concord.

Can you believe today is the last day of June?  No nor' me!

This is my "Scallops" "Boy" card.
I Don't make many boy cards unless I am asked to do so or have a "Boy" birthday coming up, so thought it was about time I used this LOTV stamp which I have had for a while now.
I think this is a perfect boy image and with him having this fab little Footie Kit on, it can be coloured in any "Team" colours that you happen to like.
Now In our family we are Liverpool supporters, (hubby does originate from The Wirrel, so that's why!)
BUT on this occasion I decided to go to the "Dark Side" and go Everton colours instead!!
Don't let the Hubby know tho'.

Image is LOTV.
Papers are Stampin' Up, and Kraft card.
The punched border is MS.
The shaped image and mat is a Nestie (one of my favourites)
Button is Prima.

I Love Summer~

Hello All,

A big thank you to my Old and New Followers, I really do appreciate your lovely comments, it makes it all worth while when someone tells you they like what you do. Thank you.

I have a card today made using one of Mo Manning's images. I just love this super Summery image it is deffinatly one of my favorites, it always makes me smile and reminds me of my Daughter Eve when she was a little tot.

I have used some free papers from Scrapbook Inspirations Magazine, bunting also from a stamp free from a magazine, image is coloured with Pro-Markers. The small flowers are Hobby House and the larger one with the Craftwork Cards Sentiment in the middle, is a  Lindsey Mason Funstamp called Dotty Flower (this is one of my favorite stamps,)  I use it loads, it is so easy to stamp and cut out.

How much do you love him??

Hi Girls,
Just a quickly to make you all smile...
My Great Niece will be getting christened on Sunday 29th July. I did not really know what to get her as a gift, and thought about the usual stuff like Porcelain bowl and mug, or a load of Premium Bonds (however someone else is doing that) or a silver money box, What a dilemma.

After a few weeks of thinking about it I came up with a Limited Addition Teddy Bear from the Charlie Bear Collection. If you have not ever heard of them, you must check them out they are stunning, all handmade. They have the most adorable movable body parts and the cutest faces ever.

I have one myself called "Debbie". When I was 50 my friend Karen bought her for my Birthday and she sits in my craft room on a shelf watching me. My Charlie Bear has the Naughtiest face you have ever seen, she looks like she's really done something wrong!!

This Bear for my Great Niece is called "Hot Cross Bun" and was just one of 4000 bears made, he is adorable isn't he?

I think it's funny that my bear actually looks like a girl bear, and I think Hot Cross Bun looks like a boy, what do you think?

So here he is............

OMGosh. I wish he was my Bear.
I have wrapped him up incase I change my mind and end up buying  Iris a Money Box!!

Stampotique Card..

Hello Ladies~

Have a card for you today. I have used this Stampotique Stamp called Daniel Torrente, I just love his big hat and pointed fingers (very Johnny Depp, don't you think?)

The Challenge has asked for "Think outside the Box" and do something different to the norm. After a bit of a think, I came up with Monochrome.....And even though I have added a tiny bit of Orange, I have kept it all Mono.

The black and white papers are Papermania "Bookprint", every sheet is on the theme of this one, all monochrome B&W.
I have stamped the image on the piece I have cut from the background. The orange is coloured using Tim Holzt new distress markers, lovely pens. The little birds are Craftwork Cards, and the "World Traveller" sentiment is from a set of Holiday stamps I once bought from a second hand craft sale, they are just great with lots of different fonts.

Football...What Football!!

Hi Girls~

Oh dear, we were not too good last night at the Old Footie Game! Unfortunately the "Rubbish" Italian's (no offence to anyone Italian, Italy is one of my favourite places in the world, so not meaning anything!!) beat us fair and square, and we left the pitch again with out tail well and truly between our legs....Ah well, in two years it's the "World Cup"!!!!!   Sorry!!

In a bit more of a calm fashion....Here is today's card....
It is my Great Niece "Iris's" Christening next month and to get ahead I have made this card.

I have used a digi image from my box of ready to go stamps and coloured it with Pro-Markers. This gorgeous baby alphabet paper unfortunately has no name on it, so have not got a clue who's make it is. I have used a MS edge punch and a Sentiment from my stash. The little pearls are Hobby House, and I have used my favourite circle and scalloped circle Nestie.

Sorry the photo is not too good, must try harder!

True Colours~

Hello Girl's...

YaK!!
Weather is horrendous here, I have a pond in my garden, yet I don't remember us ever putting one in!!!

I have a Scrapbook page Layout to show you today. Cos' of this awful weather I have just had a play in my craft room all day.

I have chosen a couple of sheets of Bo-bunny paper, love these Summery stripes, and I have made some Bunting from another Bo-Bunny design paper. The other bits and bobs are all from my scrap box.

Close up of the two terrors!

This photograph is taken a long time ago and features my two children dressing up and playing in the garden. This was something they did all the time, they were always dressing up and putting on little pretend concerts and doing something really daft.
On this photo I think it was a sort of "BraveHeart" thing going on!!
They both have beach towels wrapped round themselves (held up with pegs!! Ha Ha) and plastic swords in their hands, I think they look like they are doing the battle cry too....Poor Neighbours!!
It always makes me laugh, this photo, as Eve's mouth is horizontal and Matthew's mouth is vertical!!
SO FUNNY!

Graphic 45 ~Star Book~

Hello Girls

Horrid weather and PC problem's....Grrr What a start to the day!! Things can only get better, right?

I have been busy keeping Hubby on the straight and narrow (he has this week off work, and I have been supplying him with tea while he has been outside planting up all our lovely hanging baskets).
He has done wonders, the garden is looking super. Unfortunately it's indoor jobs today, but he still need cups of TEA!
I have not been making many card lately (only those needed for coming Birthday's etc) but I have still been busy crafting, just making other things instead of cards.
Don't you sometimes wish there were more hours in a day!!

So thought I would show you what I have been working on for just over two weeks.
It is a Star Book (My first one ever!) and I made the carcass at Art from the Heart's fabulous workshop.
This last week I have been busy decorating the book and adding all the embellishments and Tags.
I managed to get some useful hints and tips off other people who have made these books by adding Graphic 45 Mini Books (that's the paper's used)to Youtube where there are some great tutorials.

All the paper used is Graphic 45, along with the matching embellishment sheets of Graphic 45 too.
I also used some Black and Kraft cardstock, and bits of ribbon, cord and rub-on's.

Front of the Book..

Inside the Star Book when it's opened..

Lots of pages with decorated tags..

I have really enjoyed making this, but will find it impossible to replicate without all the measurements, so hopefully I can get them off Dyan and make another!

Double Trouble~

Hello Girls,
Hope you all had a lovely weekend and today was good too!

I am having a great day. I have Hubby off all week so that's always nice, he works far too hard and does not take anywhere near enough time off, so I am glad he has chosen this week, and if today's weather is anything to go by, he will love it, "Playing" in the garden! He has made all the hanging baskets, and put them all up, so garden is looking super.

I have also had a bit of a "Play". It has been my "Cut & Chat" day (my craft group meet up). We had a fab time.
Angie and I have been making our tags for the "Gorgeous" Star Book we made last weekend at Art from the Heart. Hope at a later date to show you the book, it's lovely, cannot really believe I actually made it!!!

I started today's project a couple of nights ago. Because of the "Football" I just am not getting anything done, writing this in a hurry too, as I have 30 minutes 'till the next match!!
Unfortunately the next thing I watch from "dusk 'till dawn" is Wimbledon, OMG another fortnight of a house that needs cleaning!! Oh happy days!!

So....this "double" figure on this card is Daniel Torrente, I just Love him, looks like I love him enough to stamp him twice!! LOL

I am entering him into the challenge at Stampotique Designs and they are asking for a double stamped image, so here it is!

June Calender Page

Hiya Girls.........

In case you thought I had gone on holiday to the MOON!! Well NO I have been WORKING!!
Ha Ha, Have not worked for about 5 months so it went down bad!! Forgot how hard it is!!
I worked a week at the "Lakes Aquarium" about 30 minutes drive away. I was boat building with the hoards of children who turned up. At the Aquarium if the weather is bad it is always really really busy, so guess what......HEAVING and hard work.

I treated myself at the weekend and went away to Harrogate with my Bestest friend Angie for some "Craft Therapy" at the fabulous "Art from the Heart" studio, we had a lovely time.
So back to blogging again now, and raring to go.

I want to share my latest journal calender pages for June with you. I have used Dylusions stamps & ink sprays, a new background splatter stamp, a bumble bee stamp (not sure who makes it) and a bird and cage by Craftwork cards.  I am popping these pages onto the blog of Kate Crane, you can find her stunning work here:  The Katherine Wheel

Favorite Stamp for Sweet Stampin'~

Hi girls.
Can you believe it's Saturday again? AND IT'S JUNE!!
No way, can't be!
It's Challenge time over at ~Sweet Stampin'~  and this week it's use "Your Favourite Stamp"...
Could this challenge BE any simpler!

Our sponsors this week are Letreset, so that means Pro-Markers will be up for grabs, so go find your favourite stamp and join me and my team mates over at Sweet Stampin'.

For this theme I have chosen a stamp I have had for ages. This stamp, and several others in the pack, are from The Stamp Man and are called Butterfly Beauties.
I have used it quite a few times, and have stamped her in a few different colours before and used pro-markers to colour her in.
However this is the way I prefer to use her, and that is simply stamped with black brilliance ink and then clear embossing powder, gives her a lovely glossy look and no need for colour.

I have chosen a couple of sheets of MME paper and some leftover bits from my box. I have added several red candy dots and a sentiment from LOTV. As my sewing machine is set up next to my feet, under the table! I thought it only rude not to use it on this project!! Although I did go abit bonkers with the Zig Zags!!
