Sweet Stampin Colour Challenge~

Hi Girls,

Saturday again, so time for another challenge over at Sweet Stampin.
The theme this week is a colour challenge "Strawberry, Cream and Chocolate" and was chosen by ME!
Hope you like it and will go on over and have a look at what my team mates came up with!

This sweet little image I have used is one of our sponsor "Pollycraft" images, isn't she so cute. I just had to add the "Relax" sentiment as she looks like she's about to nod off, just look at those eyes!! Lol

My papers are all from my craft paper leftover box (told you I liked this colour combo, had loads of bits in these colours!)
The image is coloured with Marvey Markers, pearls are Hobbyhouse, and flowers are NS. The corner punch is the gorgeous Pansy MS punch.

I hope this will help some of you~

I am no expert at "Punch around the page" by Martha stewart (as you will know if you have read my last post). BUT this is what I did (mind you it was after quite a bit of wasted card trying to get it right)!

I punched the corner then measured it to see how big it was, then measured the border bit once that was cut then the next corner and then added it all 3 up. (Don't know if that makes sense)! E.G. 1"+2"+1"=4", so cut the card at 4" to see how far out I was.
Yesterday on QVC Alex (Martha's right hand man) said It goes up in 2" incriments, but let me tell you....NO THEY DON'T!! Or at least the one I was using doesn't.
The Pansy punch I used cut at 3 1/4 and then the one on my last card which was 5", so my advice is to try what I said above with old card and when you get it right, save it write the size on it and get it out next time you need to. I have a feeling they are all NOT going to be the same, so you may need to do them for all your others....Good Luck.

Pink and Green should ALWAYS be seen~

Hello Girls,
A big hello to my New and regular followers, you are very welcome, hope you like my craft projects and story's!

Been a bit busy this week (what else is new!).

Our hallway has a gorgeous (Old) Parquet wooden floor which we have had hidden under a carpet for about 15 years. We always knew it was there lurking, asking to be "Set Free", but we kept it covered!!
About three weeks ago (over breakfast) hubby said "When I am off work for my weeks holiday, I want to try to repair the old hall floor"! I was a bit shocked, but very excited.
Well to cut a long story short (like I can do that!) It needed a few replacement tiles (they are about 2"x5" size), wood stain, glue and varnish, and we are on the staining part at the moment.
I have to admit, we are delighted with it. At the end of the day it is a solid wood floor which I am sure would cost us an arm and a leg to replace if we had to.

Onto today's card. I hope you like it.
I was asked by my daughter's friend to make her a cute Birthday card, so this is what I came up with. The image is LOTV, but is a Topper and not a stamped image, so not coloured by me! Makes a change from all that colouring, and I have been so busy, I did not feel under presure when making it. I have used my favorite colour combination, I just love pink and green together.

I have used the LOTV Elephant Topper, some gorgeous Bo-Bunny papers, some gingham ribbon and Hobbyhouse pearls.
After half an hour of swearing and paper throwing, I finally came up with the Martha Stewart "Punch round the Page" Pansy square that is under the image...Grrrr
What a nightmare. For some reason I ALWAYS have a problem getting it spot on....But In the end after persevering I finally did it, and have now kept an example to keep for the future!!!

Who took the "Sun" away?

Well girls, come clean, which one of you took the "Sun" away?

It's turning out to be a bit of a poor August, cannot remember the last time we had a BBQ! Oh hate it when it's like this.

I have a card for you today made with one of my new stamp purchases. I managed to win this last week on Ebay, isn't she cute? She's Dee Dee from the Greet Farm Crew, look at those sweet bunches in her hair!

I have used some First Edition papers, a doily which I have stained with Tim Holtz Old Lace Ink, and some ribbon I bought from a local shop. The little Tag is a Go Create and I am finding these 5 dies very useful, this is the smallest one, but the largest on is big enough to stamp an image onto. I have finished off with a Hobbyhouse button and some Twine.

Have a Red & White Christmas~

Hello Girls,

Well my week Teaching Scrapbooking is well and truly behind me now!
I can report that it was a great success.
The local Press came into the School and took some lovely photo's of the children's work, that same day they appeared in the Evening Newspaper.

The books were fantastic.
The children that Angie and I worked with were so good. Not only were they very enthusiastic, but they were very well mannered and and were a pleasure to teach.
The first couple of days were quite taxing, the children (aged 7-13) took some time to grasp the concept, but trust me by the Wednesday, they knew exactly what was expected of them and were taking to it like a duck to water!
Each day we made 4 Layouts, and one small craft project to take home.
First day we made a door hanger, then a laminated place mat, next a small basket containing chocolates and a Tile coloured with porcelain markers, the Thursday we made about 6 small Birthday cards and the last day a decorated "Lunch bag".

I have been asked to run a small class workshop near Christmas, so they were obviously happy with my work.
I really enjoyed it, however It is a long time since I have worked full time for a whole week, so I cannot believe how tired I am!!

Onto my card for today.

I did not make this card this week, I made it last week but kept it until today.
It's a Leanne Ellis image, and has always been one of my favorites. I used a friends stamp a few weeks ago, but decided to buy my own once I knew I would love to use her!

I have used some of my new Christmas papers from Dovecraft, and a sheet of red mirri board. I did not want to colour all the image in so have just used a red pro-marker for her hair and flower and covered her dress with stickles. the lovely border is a Marrianne die.

No card, just an update on my teaching!!

Hello Girls,

Thank you very much to all of you who wished me well Teaching this week...I am pleased to report all is going well. Brilliant in fact.

Thanks to my fabulous "WingMan" Angie, who is a complete star, we are having such a great time and the children (all 7 of them) seem to be enjoying the class too.
We've managed to complete 8 Layouts over the last two days (that's 4 a day, 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon + a small project to take home each day too. Yesterday's was a Door Hanger and today was a laminated placemat.

Appart from the fact that Angie and I now know exactly what a Scrum Half feels like during and after a game, and I am so tired I had my eye's closed while I was standing up b4! All is well!

LOL

Isla and her hat~

Hello Girls,

Getting very excited now, my Scrapbook Teaching is tomorrow and Angie and I are so looking forward to it!
Mind you I am a little apprehensive too.....I have never done anything like this before, although It is something I am very passionate about. I love Scrapbooking, (I have made around 60 books so far,) and hope that the children I am teaching Monday to Friday, will get enjoyment out of it too.

For today's card I have used this lovely "Isla" Sugar Nellie stamp, Bo Bunny double sided papers, a couple of Marianne Swirls and flowers from my stash.

I wanted to enter the challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges, they asked for a Monochromatic image, I decided that I would stamp the image on this linen effect cardstock and leave it just like that, no colour at all. Not sure it's exactly what I was trying to accomplish, but it's done now, and I do like the papers and the sketch.

Hi Girls,

Saturday AGAIN...Can't believe it, where does the time go?
Stop the World, I want to get off!!

Today's Challenge over at Sweet Stampin is chosen by Team Mate Kobie and is "On the Farm". I have chosen one of our sponsor Pairie Fairy images, isn't this little duck sweet? I don't know if it is a boy or girl, but I think he looks like a BOY!!

I have used some Nit Wit cardstock, an EK success border punch and ribbon and pearls from my stash. The image is coloured with Pro-Markers, and I have used one of my favorite Nestie circles. The "What's up Doc" sentiment is pc generated.

Kiss, Kiss Sweetie~

Hi Girls,

I am going to be Missing In Action all of next week.

It's my week at the local school teaching Scrapbooking (cannot wait now), mind you I have a great hoard of stuff to take with me, I feel like taking my whole room....but know I can't do that, I would need a House Removal Van to get it all in. Lol

I had my Nana and Mum here for Dinner tonight, so not managed to do any crafting until now.
Earlier today I bought some lovely Christmas papers called Christmas Joy and I have used them on tonight's Christmas Card.

This image is a Digi, but I am really sorry I have forgotten who made it. I bought this image along with a few others quite a while ago and they are so nice to colour. I have used my Pro-Markers to colour this one. I have added some stickles to look like snow. I have handmade some bunting from the same papers.

Configeration Boxes~

Hi Girls,

Just thought I would share with you the presents I made for my friend Angie's Birthday and a surprise gift for my Son's Girlfriend.

They are the configuration Boxes by Tim Holtz. These are not the first boxes like this I have made, I love making them, I find them very therapeutic to do.

The only problem I have when making them is finding all the "Findings" to go inside.
I try to find lots of tiny little bottles, clocks, cotton reels etc. Tim does do quite a good range, but I try to look in other places too. I sometimes find old Christmas baubles as long as they are not too big. If you can see on the photo, the silver mirror type balls are tree ornaments!!

A couple of people have asked me the price to make these boxes, but I find them really expensive. The boxes themselves start at about £7 for the smallest one (they do lots of sizes, even huge ones) The boxes then have to be decorated with Tim's tissue tape and papers, ink etc. BUT the major costs are buying all the "Findings" that go in all the boxes, they can be up to £3 a piece! This can get quite pricey.
Up to now I have made all mine to give away as presents, so would only make them for this.

Hope you like them.

Tilda is off on her Holls!

Hiya Girls,

Another mixed day weather wise here, in the morning it was raining and the afternoon was nice, really humid too, I had all the windows open and a fan on!

I had a phone call this afternoon telling me the S.E.I Wedding papers I ordered in April had finally arrived (good job I was not in a hurry for them!!!) The order had been put back twice and at one time I was told I could no longer expect them. Out of the blue the shop rang and said If I still wanted them, they were finally here....
So now that means I will be making 60 Wedding Invitations for the next few weeks. I have chosen quite a complicated flower folded shape for them, but it does look very different and gorgeous made with these stunning papers, I will show you them when I get a few done.

Before I go off to watch my favorite film of all time (which has just started) GLADIATOR........(Oh Russel Crowe in a skirt, what more could a woman want!!)

I will show you what I have been upto tonight....

I have made a Tilda card. Not used a Tilda for ages, so when I saw this nice sketch over at MSL I thought I would give it a go.
The papers are all from my stash of leftovers, punch is one I bought on QVC ages ago (don't know the make, but they are lilac coloured), flower punch is NS and pearls are Hobbyhouse. I have used more of my iridescent sticky back paper, this time in pink. All coloured with Copic markers.

"C" is in the Air Again~

Hi Girls,
Hope you all had a nice Monday.
My hubby went back to work today after having a week off...Boo Hoo. I Love it when he is off work, and I missed him today.

Did lots of cleaning earlier, then helped my son pack for his holiday on Wednesday. He is off to Tunisia with his girlfriend and her family for two weeks, it will be quiet, I will do less cooking and the electricity metre will do less spinning while he is not here, but I will miss him!

I had a little time tonight to have a bit of a play with my new stamps.
It's another "C" (Christmas) card, and I really enjoyed making it.
I saw these stamps a couple of days ago on QVC and I just had to have them, I am so pleased with them. They are by Kanban, not really something I would normally have bought, but I just thought they were cute, there are about 6 different Teddy's all in Christmas poses.
I don't own very many Christmas Stamps, I have had a list of some I want to get over the next few weeks.

Sorry about the awful photo, it's caught the light abit, not very good here tonight.
Not sure if this next image is any better!!!!!

When I saw these cute bears I thought they were perfect, and they are quite a large image too. The cardstock I have used is 6x6 and I have used my largest nestie circle and scallop. The sentiment also came with the image.
The papers are Fizzy Moon, the snowflake and border punches are by MS and the shiny paper is from a pack of sticky back from the kids section in the "Range" it is very nice and comes in packs of 5 different iridescent A4 sheets, great when using a punch as the back just peels off.
The image is coloured with Pro-Markers.
