Altered Art Box~~

Hi All~

Yesterday I bought a set of 3 nesting boxes from the Papermania Bare collection. I bought round and oblong, and thought I would have a go at some Altered art with it.
I had been blog hoping when I found the "Polka Doodles" challenge and guess what? It was only Altered Art!!
Great!!
I also wanted to follow the "Just Magnolia" Sketch, but was a bit worried at how I would do this on the lid of a box...but think I managed, lets see what the girls there say.
365 Cards wanted 3 circle's so I think thats covered!!
Finally A spoonfull of sugar wanted 3d...

Sorry for putting on four photo's, but I really did not know which angle to photograph the box from, so decided to show them all~~

I used some of the beautiful MME papers I bought yesterday, the La Paperie pad, some of the papers are very French Shabby Chic, and that was perfect for this make. I had no idea what colour I was going to use, until I saw these sheets. So pink it was.
I have used the Wedding image of Tilda and Edwin, although I don't own this stamp, I have had them stamped for me, think it works on the box lid!

I covered the box and lid with the papers, I inked all the edges, and then sanded them all down.
I had some anique lace, so used this for the edge of the lid and over the top aswell. I matted some other co-ordinated papers on black gloss card, just to lift the pink.
I had lots of Pink Rose buds, but wanted to try out the handmade flower from a book I have.
I made five 1" hearts on the Cricut Machine, I then shaped them slightly so they were not so flat, then glued them all together in the middle, just overlapping slightly, they were finished off with a touch of stickles and a pearl gem, I also made a few MS punch leaves. I have also used the little heart shaped MS border punch for round the bottom of the box.
While my Cricut was "fired up"~ I decided to cut six 1" cirles and glue them together, stacked one on top of each other, pop a couple of holes in the middle and thread ribbon through.
I love doing this, it makes the perfect button to go with your project.

Happy Tilda~~

What a day~
Thought it was going to rain, waited for it all day...but it never did. What do weather men/women get paid for?
I could do that job...tell you it MAY rain, and NOT to put out your washing or go out WITHOUT Your heavy umberella! JUST INCASE~Ta weather people.
Who cares at night time though, 'cos its craft time again.

Oh hec, Tilda AGAIN!! On my latest card creation. I am going to have to ban myself for the next card....If I can! LOL

I love the Happy Tilda, just look at her with her little arms up in the air, Oh how nice!
I have chosen these new papers I have from the MME huge La Paperie pad. Just picked them up today, lovely, all set out in colour family's. Very vintage and distressed.

Coloured Tilda with Pro-markers, used my MS punch for flowers and leaves.
Card is finished with gold pearls, a lovely ornate pin (courtesy of my friend Angie)
and a Thank you sentiment.

Have entered her into the following challenges:

~Thursday is Lilac day~

Hi All~
Looks like it's going to rain here today, although up to now, it hasn't...It's not like we don't need some, but it has been great, this nice warm weather.

I wanted to do another shaped card today, and chose this Scrapbook paper that was already this shape~all I did was fold in it half and then stuck it to a plain white card and cut round it, for a bit more stability.
I have followed a few challenges for this card. As I have made my own flowers, found a couple which required this element.
List of them below:

http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.com/2010/04/challenge-48-shaped-card.html

http://paperplaychallenges.blogspot.com/2010/04/10-week-17-pretty-pastels.html

I just had to use Tilda again today, she makes me smile...She's so cute, and this image with her hair up in little buns is Sooooo sweet...do you agree?

I cannot remember where I saw the demo for this flower, but it was so easy...
Start off drawing a freehand cirle getting nearer and nearer the centre like a spiral, then cut along the line to the middle with scissors, then starting from the outside roll it up and glue at the end.....Oh hec I made it sound hard and yet it isn't!!

I do not use glitter on cards very often (just stickles), so this was nice for a change, but it's all over my face like I am off to a disco~~ and yet alas I am not!!
My MS punch was out again for the border, I have added pearls, and a ribbon with a sugar brad in the middle. The wee sentiment says "Spring is just Ducky"!!

Strawberry Tilda~~

I gave in to my craving tonight!!
No not chocolate (I had a square of that earlier!) Tilda colouring~~

I love this image, she is one of my favorites, just love the little flower in her hair and the way her hair flicks out at the sides.
I have used checked table cloth type paper, and paper with fruit on (although after I put all the ribbons on you cannot see it very well at all.)

I put a Recipe for my very own Jam Tarts on a Nestie heart shape, and I have used a sweet little Strawberry Charm hanging off it.
I have used my MS border punch again for the loopy edges.

As I have entered this card in two Magnolia challenges:

Round Easle Card~~

Hi All~

Not very nice weather today for me, it's not cold but just very dull, at least it is dry and thats all that counts in my book!

I am getting quite excited at the moment, as on Saturday May 8th I am off to a lovely craft/stamping faye in Port Sunlight Liverpool.
I went late last year and it was fantastic, cannot wait to go again.
I have to confess I do tend to spend far too much money when I go and I do feel a bit guilty (but that only lasts about 10 minutes and then it's off to check out all my fab stuff!)
My hubby doesn't know all this!! (so shush!!)
I think he thinks I spend about £50 and he thinks thats extravagant~~
Best he does not know the real amount them eh!

Today I have had a go at making a round easle card. Not sure it's worked as well as I wanted it to, and don't ask me why I went for the MONO look, did not start out to do that, it just happened.

I used one of my 6x6 square card as a starting point, and just drew a cirle taking into consideration the fold. I was quite surprised at how well it worked. I think the size is good too, not too big not too small..
I have used co-ordinates background card and have sanded the edges. I then used about three different DP. The stamp is from the kit I used a few cards ago when I did the lovely girls head, well this is the Butterfly form the same sheet, and the tiny one too.
Nestie matt for image and a border with my trusted MS punch, added gems, ribbons, and stickles fom my stash.
I am entering into the challenges listed below:

Million Dollar Baby~~

Hi All~~

I finished all the days jobs just before tea today. Managed to do ironing, Food shopping, tea and hoovering before I was fed up....
Nothing left to do now but, CRAFT!!
Thats todays moto..."Nothing left to do now but, Craft"..
Like it!!

I posted a card a little earlier, it was my Green House Mouse card.
Then tonight I have had a go at the Gorjuss Girl Decoupage sheets. Thanks to fellow blogger Jane for the heads up on them, they are just lovely and really nice to use, die cut too, with embellishments and sentiments on the sheets.
I love them~~

Decided to have a go at cutting my square 6x6 card front in half and pop the matted image over the top, I quite like the effect, makes a change from the norm, just a bit different..What do you think?
The lovely sentiment saying "A best friend is a sister that destiny forgot to give you"..Is a Bo Bunny cardstock sticker, as is the circle mock button.
The lovely red paper is K&Co, I have also used corrogated card for a challenge.
I have entered into the following challenges:

House Mouse Kisses~~

Hi All,

Hope you have all had a great day.

I love this image of the House mouse, "Sunflower Smooch!
I have used it a few times as Anniversary cards for friends. As I am "embossing mad" at the mo, thought I would try it out again. As before it worked great, I am having great fun with the powder!!
I wanted to enter this card into the House Mouse spring challenge, and Polka Doodles see below to enter:
http://housemouseandfriends.blogspot.com/2010/04/spring-challenge.html

http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/2010/04/week-16-challenge-monochromatic.html

I wanted to keep this card clean and bright, and again chose green...Oh me and green!
The card is A4 folded and I have covered it in green dotty paper, I have used copics/pro markers on the image, and have cut a border and flowers with MS punch.
I bought the ribbon today in a craft shop, thought it looked a bit like a garden fence!!
I have embossed the word "Treasure" to finish it all off~~

~~FANTASY~~

Hi All,

Monday again!! Where does the weekend go?
Been busy today, had work then went to my craft class. Shelley and Margaret run the group and they do a lovely job. Thank you girls.

I have used a stamp technique I have not done before on todays card, embossing~
For some reason I have just never done it, I have had a heat gun for ages, embossing powders and the inks, so thought I would give it a go!!

I was quite pleased with the effect, I used a Kaleidoscope embossing powder and this gives a very colourful look. The cardstock and embelishments are from my Kanban stash, and I have used the lovely MS punch to do two borders. I have finished with several different pretty pearls.
I have entered this card in SIR STAMPALOTS FABULOUS CHALLENGE, AND CUPCAKE CHALLENGE GO HERE TO SEE:

THANK YOU~~

Hi All~~

Hope you all liked my Scrapbook page. If you have never tried it, go ahead and have a go, it's not as daunting as it first seems, and there are NO mistakes in Scrapbooking, just go for it and see how lovely you can make your photographs look.

The first book I ever made was for my nana's 90th Birthday, it was full of her family and friends, she loved it, she leaves it out on a coffee table and she shows it to anyone and everyone! (She will be 94 this Christmas~)

Back to today. Not very sunny here! Watching the London Marathon, I am always amazed at how people can run for 26 miles, I have a bit of a problem running for the bus!!

Before I went to bed last night i got all the papers and embelishments ready to make this card. I used an image from the SN range, the gorjuss girl, she is so cute.
These are my new papers, Basic Grey "Kioshi", they are all really unusual and all these sort of distressed lilac colours, a bit Japanese looking.
I used my friend Angie's Nesie, this is the funny edged oval, I like this shape. I have used my Ms punch for the border and flowers, card candy centres, and a little handbag charm on ribbon. Decided to use the Thank You sentiment as I have a thank you to give, so thought this a nice card to do that with.

NOT a card ~ A Scrapbook Page~~

Hi All~~

Well, as an avid Scrapbooker at heart I have thought really hard about this~~ Should I put a page on my Blog?
So I started to go through the ones I have (and thats alot!) Which one to choose, it took ages, I just did not know which one to pick.

I saw a challenge asking for "quotes". It said you could choose any crafting project, so I thought this was ideal.
I chose this page in the end because it brought back lovely memories of my Son's Christening day. I made his cake that day and was pleased with the comments I recieved.
I have to confess that was a while ago now~~Matthew is 18 in four months time~
How time flies!!

I loved making his cake, and I loved designing this Scrapbook page for it to go onto, it made a change from using people and places on a LO, (lay out).

As the photo was Bears having a picnic, I decided to go on line and find the song The Teddy Bears Picnic, "If you go down to the woods today, your sure of a big surprise"etc...Music by John W Bratton in the 1900s,and Lyrics by Jimmy Kennedy in the 1930s. I printed the song off, and then cut it out in strips before adding to the LO.
Hope you like it and hopefully it will give you ideas on what to do with your lovely photo's.
Scrapbooking your photo's is such a wonderful thing to do, before I did it, mine were in the loft in an old cardboard box, being looked at every five years or so. Does that ring a bell?
Not anymore, all my favorites are pride of place in my albums, and they get looked at on a regular basis. People love to look through them, unlike when you give them a handful of photo's to look at.!!
I Love this hobby, I am currently working on book number 48!! (not all mine I might add, some have been other people's memories~~)

Hugs & Kisses~~

Hi All~

What another gorgeous day~
Angie and I went to do our "Circuit Training" at 9.30 today, but for some reason it was not on...what a drag.. get ready and then it's a no go!
HOW ANNOYING~
Anyway not to worry, we walked round the corner to our local craft shop and watched the demo going on with the fab copic pens. Eh...had a spend too, not planned but what can I say, if only the training had been on!!

This card was made using some My minds eye papers, I wanted the distressed look, so sanded all the edges down and also inked them up.
I love this Tilda image (is there any Tilda images I don't like?, NO!)
Coloured with copics, and Nestabilities to do the matting shape.
The ribbon with the flowers is from my stash, but I remember getting it as part of a kit off QVC, it's fabric ribbon, lovely to use.
I have used my favorite EK Success punch (moroccan) and finally added the sentiment I already had in my box.
Oh did not mention the little button~ I cut a flower from the paper, put two tiny holes in it to make it look like a button, and covered it in glossy accents. Voila!

My First Ever Step Card~~

Hi All~

Been to work this morning, but have managed a couple of hours crafting this afternoon. My friend Angie is calling tonight for a session (crafting that is!) while hubby is out with his mates, drinking beer!! Don't want to think what he is going to look like tomorrow morning!
Good job I am out on Saturday morning so I wont see him or hear the moaning about a soar head!!

Well this afternoon I was having a look around and found a pack of Step Cards~~
I have had these white scalloped step cards for a while now, but had a blank on how to use them.
I wanted to use my Happy Tilda on a card, so thought I would have a go and see how it turned out using them together...

I saw a challenge when Blog hopping, and it required using Brown and Pink. I knew I had lots of those colours in papers and pens, so decided to cover the card blank with them and finish off with Cricut flowers and hearts. The lovely epoxy sentiment is from ATD Serenity, there were lots of words to choose from, but because this is Happy Tilda I chose the word LAUGH!!
I prefer to just do "flat" cards, but recently I have made a couple of easle cards, a round card and now this step card...It's having a go at something new and I love all that. I will try anything, not always successfully, but who cares as long as I am having fun!!

Card is entered into the following challenges:

Made with help from a friend~~

Hi here~

Last night I went to craft at a friend's house, we were stamping out Tilda's and lots of other different stamps.
My friend had this gorgeous "Winged" Tilda, and I just could not resist her...So I just had to use her as soon possible.
First thing this morning I did the "job" list in the house, (ironing, cleaning, washing out, shopping for food etc...boaring!!)
Then I started on my card.

A BIG THANK YOU to Bev for letting me stamp this Tilda out, and for a lovely night, I really enjoyed crafting somewhere else for a change. Ta Bev.

I bought these spotty papers a few weeks ago and I just love them, to be honest I thought it was going to end up as one of my "looking at Papers!"....You know the one's, the one's that you NEVER use, but love!!
In the end I just had to use them, so here they are on my Tilda card.

I like this colour combo, and to add a bit of interest I have added a little crown charm.
Tilda is coloured with a mixture of Copics and Ranger inks, however I have not used the inks before, so I am not sure if I have managed to colour that well, Linds said they take a bit too get used to, so I will have a bit more of a practice. They were very different to use though, and I used a blending pen to distribute ink!

I made this card for a Birthday I have coming up, and have entered it into the following challenges before I give it away.

Tilda in Spring Green~~

Hi all,
Have given in to my Tilda addiction and this card features the lady herself!
I have not used her in my last 3 or 4 cards, so it's about time she came for a visit!

I have made her in my favorite colour...green, I love green, all my cards would be green if I could get away with it!
I have entered her into 3 challenges and they are listed below:

http://cinspirations.blogspot.com/2010/04/challenge-57-sketch.html

http://creativecottagechallenge.blogspot.com/2010/04/creative-cottage-challenge-7-going.html

http://aspoonfullofsugarchallenge.blogspot.com/2010/04/challenge-100-happy-birthday.html

The paper used is from Hot off the Press paper pad called 4 Seasons, I have had it ages but remembered that there were some great "Green" papers in it, so actually I ended up using 3 green papers, and they all came out of this pad~

This is a lovely Tilda, she is so sweet the way she is carrying the heavy pressies!
I had ribbon in my stash, and on this card did not want to add any fabric or paper flowers, (as the paper has flowers on). Instead I added a rub on corner and rub on flower. The MDUC wanted me to do a masking technique, so some of the rubber stamp grasses are stamped after a mask was put over the top of Tilda.

My MS punch made another appearance for the border edge, and my sentiment is from the lovely Sue Dreamer. (These sentiments are made on vellum and are just gorgeous).

My Green creation!!

Do I Love Red?

Well the short answer is yes!

Well sort of~~
However I never wear it, and I don't craft with it, (or not very often anyway!)
I have used it in the occasional Scrapbook page, but I think other than the once a year hubby Valentine's card, I have not used it much at all.

I have enjoyed using my new girl stamps from Kanban, I had a little spend on QVC last week and these came today.
I have decided to do two cards at the same time (clever or what!!)

On the first card I stamped the girl twice, once on white card and the second on the red paper, I then cut out the red dress and hat and layered them over the top. Just like when I was a child and had a cut out dressing up doll. (Oh I used to love them, I would sit for hours with my sister playing doll dress up!!)

I have used some of the same papers for the second card. I have cut round the girl after stamping, she too is copic coloured and matted on a white card cut on the Nesibilities, and put through the bug with swiss dot folder.
For the brilliant "button", go to the fabulous Wiff of Joy tutorial~~it's fab:
(Link below)
http://whiffofjoy.blogspot.com/2010/04/buttons.html

These cards will go in the "Red and White" Sweet stamping challenge, Cupcake Craft Challenge, and The Abc challenge, all links found below:

When I look at these two cards, I will try and feel more love towards the colour red~~I think it is working!!

Spring Wedding~~

Hello All
Oh dear I am a bit tired and delicate today, I had a few too many sherry's (well red wine actually!) yesterday afternoon at my Mother in Law's Birthday bash.
It was a great day, and went on into the evening, so just a bit worse for wear at the mo.
I did not make this latest card today (obviously!)
I started it Friday and finished it Saturday morning. I wanted to use the new Tilda Wedding image I had, and I then looked for inspiration in the Fairytale Magnolia magazine. Plenty of Wedding theme's in there to help.

The beautiful papers I have used are Prima "Flights of Fancy collection". I stayed with the pink colour, as I chose pink for the wedding dress and Edwin's tie.
I drew a rough heart shape and then tore round it.
I have coloured the wedding dress just a bit too pink for my liking, but am going to leave it now, should have done it a bit paler really.
I am off to a craft show in May and they always have a card challenge while the day is on, this year it is "Spring Wedding", so I will take this with me and enter it.
Hope I am feeling less hungover next time I post!!
Love Debbiexx

Fairies Do Exist!

Another gorgeous day, although a little bird told me that we could be in for some of that white stuff.. SN**, but if we don't actually say the word, then it might not happen~
I have had a day of jobs today so, not done any crafting until tonight.
The post lady, well lad actually, brought me and my friend Angie (Hi Ang!) the latest Magnolia Ink Magazine "A midsummer nights dream" ~~ OMG, am I allowed to say that? It is so lovely, well I did not really expect it to be anything else with Tilda centre stage!

Back to my crafting tonight ~~ I have wanted to use the Lili of the Valley toppers I bought a few weeks ago and found the perfect challenge to enter it in...The Lili of the Valley Thursday Challenge, perfect.

http://liliofthevalleythursdaychallenge.blogspot.com/2010/04/challenge-51.html

Also Paper Cutz Challenge:
http://papercutzchallenge.blogspot.com/2010/04/paper-cutz-challenge-37.html

I saw a tutorial on how to make this "pocket card" on a lovely blog, details here:

http://whiffofjoy.blogspot.com/2010/04/criss-cross-pocket-card-tutorial-by.html

It is lovely and so different. At first I thought, Oh this is going to be complicated, all that measuring, you know me and measuring!!
But it turns out it's easy peasy, give it a go.
I made the Pocket Card first, then measured the little card to slip inside it~
I was looking at it thinking "wouldn't it make a great Wedding Invitation if it was made in white and silver?

OH NEARLY 4 GOT..... The bit on the card that looks like a a doily is done with my MS corner punch and a circle of card, another tutorial from the same blog as above...absolutly genius.

Leah's 21st Birthday~~

Oh is it Thursday already?
Another week has almost bit the dust, I need more hours in the day please, anyone got anymore?

It is almost my Nieces 21st Birthday and I wanted to make her a nice card. I went through my stamps and found this "Girlie Hair Image", I had not used it for an age, forgot how much I liked it.
It came as a set of 10 stamps. There is s tiny inch by inch replica of this stamp, two butterflies, flowers and a Happy Birthday stamp.
It's full title is called "The Bling Maiden" from Aspects of Design.
I think this stamp is perfect for the 'girlie' cards, and I think my Niece Leah will love it's funky 'hairdoo'.
I have entered it into the following challenges:

Little Miss Gorjuss!!

Hi There~~
I have been longing to use one of these Nellie stamps, but unfortunatly I have not got any! :0( (Boo Hoo)
This image was stamped for me by a friend. I LOVE this image~ I love some of the others too, especially the ones with Attitude!!
I wanted to enter her in challenges, see below:

http://totallygorjuss.blogspot.com/2010/04/challenge-25-texture.html
http://sugarbowlblog.blogspot.com/2010/04/challenge-33-gayles-sketch.html

I have used my new label Nestie, and love this shape, on the matted layer I used my neglected embossing folder with the tiny flowers on. I then added a bit of bling around the edge, with stickles.
Flowers are a must on a card with a pretty girl on!!
I just had to put a sentiment with the word~~ "Smile" on this card, as that's exactly what I was doing when I coloured this image in..
Thanks, Debbiexx

Magnolia looking all Vintage~~

Hi All...
Another card featuring the lovely Tilda!
I made this card for two challenges today, MDU "Olden Days" and My Time to Craft "Pretty Pearls".

http://magnoliadownunderchallenges.blogspot.com/2010/04/magnolia-down-under-challenge-41.html

http://mytimetocraftchallenge.blogspot.com/2010/04/challenge-87-pretty-pearls.html

http://magnolia-licioushighlites.blogspot.com/2010/04/april-magnolia-licious-sketch.html

I have used papers by DCWV Latte stack for this card, wanted it to have a vintage feel. The Tilda and bench were coloured using just grey, black anf white (that was hard)~ I have never coloured her in like this before, what a great idea for that vintage look... Not sure I managed it as well as I would have liked, but enjoyed having a go anyway. The matting is done with a new Nestability in a scalloped rectangle, I bought this a while ago and never used it.

The lovely old bench is not a Magnolia stamp, I just picked this up at a craft fair and hoped it would be the right size for her to sit on, I was pleased when it was. A very useful stamp indeed...
I added flowers from my stash and some Pearls and Pins.
and again I have used a MS punch for the border~~

BIRDHOUSE~~

As promised I have posted my Birdhouse...

The template is taken from the Magnolia Tilda magazine (The first magazine, Christmas 2009). I am a bit of a dim witt when it comes to measurements, so I am afraid I have only shown you a photo of the template and not the measurements. However if it helps, the centre square measures 3". If my hubby gets a chance to help me at the weekend, I will try to put some dimentions on!!

I drew round the template on paper, then transfered this to my cardstock. (Double sided cardstock is perfect, you need card with a bit of weight. I have used 12x12 card, but as you can see from the photo, they have shown it on A4 size.

Next step is to cut out the little circle for the window, and you can add a piece of acetate over it if you wish, but I didn't do that, as I wanted my flowers to pop through it.
Score all the folds ready for when you make the house shape. This is where you ink round all the edges if you wish. Make up the house by bringing all the sides together and glue in place.
The roof is made with a piece of card folded in half, it should overhang the house at the front and back, by a few centimetres and be long enough to come down the sides of the house, as shown. This is where the doublesided card comes into it's own, as you can use the other side to seperate the colours on the roof.
Glue one side of the roof down, but NOT the other side, this is left just to hang over. You need to leave this side open to get your gift inside, and if you put a heavy embellishment over the top of the roof, (in my case more flowers) this will keep it closed.

To finish my house, I cut lots of little butterflies and a border for the bottom, all cut with MS punches. Make a couple of bunches of flowers, stick one inside the house popping out of the window, and make the other to rest on the side of the (OPEN) roof flap. In the magazine they have added something heavy to the open side of the roof in order to keep it closed, you could use a charm or on a round sentiment you could add a coin glued to the underside.

Can you guess what I have put inside my house??????????(you cannot quite see him!)

It's one of those yummy Gold Lindt Rabbits! It's only the tiny size, mind you that tiny one has something like a thousand calories in him!!
My Mother in Law will enjoy it anyway, and hopefully she will like her Birdhouse too~~

With Thanks...

Another stunning day, (keep it quiet or it's bound to go all cold again!!)

I have been busy doing chores this `am', so had this afternoon for crafting.
While watching Johnny Depp in the weird `Willy Wonka', I decided to make a Thank you card.
It's my Mother in Law's 70th Birthday Party next Saturday and 30 family and friends will be together in a local hotel for lunch, it should be lovely.
Anyway I needed to make a Thank you card for that day, and thought about this little dog!

This stamp was free on the front of a magazine my friend Angie bought me, it's "Craft Stamper April 2010" and is still available.
I am not going to go into detail on how I made it, but will answer any questions you have if you need to know anything specific. I coloured in the dog with my favorite pens pro-markers.
This little stamp would make a great Birthday, Get Well, Mothers Day, Sorry...endless really, and he was FREE!!
I have entered this card for a challenge over at: http://stamptacularsundaychallenge.blogspot.com/2010/04/challenge-54-spots-and-dots.html
Thank you for looking Debbiexx

Easle card with Handmade Flower~~

After such a beautiful day, I was inspired to make an easle card using my new tree stamp.
It is part of the Cupcake craft challenge and that can be found here: http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.com/2010/04/challenge-85make-your-own-flowers_05.html
Have also entered the Paper Sundae challenge here:http://papersundaes.blogspot.com/2010/04/paper-sundaes-thirteenth-challenge.htmlThe brief wanted me to make a card with a handmade flower. That meant I could use a punch or make my own flowers, but NOT to use a bought flower.

I then remembered that I had seen handmade flowers on Dol Creations Blog. If you have never seen Christine's blog you are missing a real treat, she is fabulous, her handmade flower tutorial can be found here, and it is great!
http://dolcreations.blogspot.com/2010/04/tissue-flowers.html

I wanted to do an easle card,as it had been a few weeks since I had made one, and yet I do like them.
I used Making Memories 6x6 paper called Just Chilling, the designs are lovely, and the one I chose looks a bit like wood. The other paper is My minds Eye Spring Papers.

I have used my Nestabilities to cut out two shapes and inked the edges. I then stamped the Tree in the middle, this stamp is made by Hobby Art Stamps and is called Open Tree. I decided to cover the branches in as many green stick on flat gems as I could find in my stash!
I then set about making the brilliant flower. It looks complicated, but it isn't, and I think the overall effect you get is really proffesional....I used my Nellie punch in the middle of the flower and finished with a green brad. I have used a MS punch for the borders, and MS butterfly punch too, I then used a Rafia Ribbon in neutral.
I had a little piece of checked brown ribbon left from my last card and thought that went with the colours ok. I threaded a couple of heart shaped pins through it. I did not no which sentiment to add, so I looked in my sticker box, and found the Nature stickers and chose the one saying `Flowers'.
I am tired now after sunning myself and then watching Harry Potter (gosh you need to consentrate when watching these films!) Goodnight all.

Buttons and Bows~~

Hello Again..
Told you I can make cards without using the beautiful, sweet, gorgeous, wonderful, pretty, cute......Tilda!! (It was hard though!)

I love these ready made Lili of the Valley images, I have a few of them. If you just cannot find the time to fit stamping and colouring into your busy day, then these are just right, and some of the images (especially the little girl looking at the horse) are just right. I often use them as a notecards to say hello, or a quick letter to a friend. I have even used them as a `short notice' Get Well card...

I have entered this card in the Buttons and Bows challenge here: http://creativecottagechallenge.blogspot.com/2010/04/creative-cottage-challenge-5-buttons.html

I started with the Lili image. The lovely little girl hugging the dog, quite a versitile image. I chose an A4 Kanban piece of cardstock in Egyptian Paper, and folded it in half to make A5. I cut two circles on my cricut machine in brown and cream cardstock and used the cricut `centre point' to cut the `image' in a circle too. I used some checked ribbon from my stash and tied it around the card. Instead of making a bow, I did the ribbon like a man's tie....don't know why, but I quite liked the end result. In my stash I had the cream buttons in different sizes, so added them to the card. I finished with my favorite set of Sentiment stamps...they are TPC Studio Playful Expressions, these setiments are lovely. This one is so perfect for this card as it mentions hugging, and the little girl is giving the wee dog a lovely hug!
Enjoyed making this card, it's a challenge for me to try not to stamp and colour, and to use a Tilda, so I am quite happy....

Sweet as Neopolitan Ice Cream!!

Hello All...

This is my latest creation, and I know it's a Tilda card...
I promise you that I do have other stamps in my stash and over the next weeks I will be using them, honest..
I can't help it with the beautiful Tilda, there is just something about her, or as my mum would say, Something NOT about her, "she hasn't got a nose or mouth"...Oh mum don't you know anything, she's an Angel, and they don't have mouths because Angels speak with their hearts!....(don't know about the nose though)....

Down to the business of the card..
I made this card as part of two challenges, it is the first time I have made a card in this way before, and although I found the end result pleasing, It was a bit hard to follow two themes at once.
One challenge was to follow the template and the other was to follow the colour combination.

You can find these challenges here:
http://papersundaes.blogspot.com/
http://fabnfunkychallenges.blogspot.com/

I started with a cream background card and then chose all my Neopolitan colours to go on it. I had a free pad of My Mind's Eye papers which came inside a craft magazine (not sure which one, sorry), and they are called Pretty Spring Papers, so I chose the paper for the chair and the matting behind. The brown and cream papers are from DCWV Latte stack which I am finding very useful. This brown paper even has a lovely very subtle cream flower on it, I was not sure if the camera would pick it up, but I noticed it had, good.
The sweet Tilda was coloured with copics, and I have sat her on the Magnolia chair.
The flowers and leaves are cut with Nellie puches and the border edge with a MS punch. I finished off with pearls, tiny roses, ribbon from my stash and a sentiment stamp saying "There is no one like you! by Hero Arts..
Hope it fits the bill for both challenges, and hope you like the delicious colours!!

The Colour Purple...

Hello Magnolia fans....
Another card with the cutest girl in town....Tilda!

I have made this card and have used it in the Magnolia Stamp Lovers..(The colour Purple) challenge... http://magnoliastamplovers.blogspot.com/

I hope the photo looks ok I am not too good with a camera, it is coming out pinky...However I promise you it's Purple!!
Although purple is not a colour I use that often, I was not short of purple supplies when making this card.
For the background I have chosen a sheet of textured purple cardstock from the DCWV Latte stack. To give interest I have cut the corner with my "w" shaped punch, and I have used this on the paper too. The beautiful paper used is from a sampler kit from Websters Papers...called "Nature's Storybook, this sheet is Violette Wings, and is the most beautiful paper I have seen for a long time. These sheets are 12x12.
This is where you can see them and get inspiration.
http://www.websterspages.com/

I have never used a little doily in my work before, so thought this was the perfect card to try it out on, I am really pleased with the result. I added ink to the edges of it and then little pearl gems.
My Magnolia image is the lovely Jam Tilda, I love the way her little hands are in her lap, so cute, and I have coloured her with Pro-markers.
I cut flowers and leaves with a Nellie punch, and from my stash I found the lovely single stem purple rose. The card is finished with a border of DCWV latte stack card in green and purple and I have used my MS punch on the boarder. The purple ribbons are from my stash. The lovely "Treasure" stamp is a Hero Art stamp.
DONE!
You know what they say?....Purple is the new black!!

MDUC Thank You Card......

This is my version of a Thank You card for the MDUC, hope you like it...
Have a go at http://magnoliadownunderchallenges.blogspot.com/

I have had a lovely day today, and the weather thankfully is looking abit more Springlike...Good news alround.

I have used my 6x6 basic white cardstock as usual.
Tilda was coloured with my green copics, and in my stash I found the background paper to match which was already in a square edge flower border design, and in the same pack I found the green/blue tartan paper. Perfect together.
I used co-ordinates cardstock, and with a Nestabilitie I cut out the label shape behind Tilda. Not sure which Tilda I have used, perhaps someone could tell me?
She has a lovely "Thank You" present in her hand!

I have used my favorite punch for the border...although I have several MS punches and I like them, this is an EK Success punch called Moroccan and I love it.

I have finished with sheer ribbon, gems, prima flowers in small and large and finally added a vellum tag with the Thank You sentiment on.

Thank you for taking a peek. Debbiexx

I have another passion...

I am afraid when I told you paper crafting was my only passion, I was telling a small lie!! SORRY!
I have another passion too...

My son told me that I was not to tell you about my other passion,(even though the photo's are from a book he bought me for Christmas) BUT I cannot help it, it's......PIGS...Micro pigs to be precise.
I know it's daft, but I just love them. At Christmas when other kids were asking "Can I have a pony", yes you guessed it..I was asking for a pig.
My best friend Angie and my lovely husband won't buy me one, so what chance have I got of getting one as a gift?
They are so tiny, and Soooooooooooo cute, and not hard to look after, but NO, I am not allowed to have one.

I might have to leave this country and go to a desert Island with my micro pig....Then lets see who misses me.!!
