What's that coming over the hill.....

IS IT A MONSTER!! IS IT A MONSTER!!

Well were you all singing the "Monster Song" by Automatic?

I am, and I just love this monster by Stampotique.
My friend Angie and I bought a copy of Craft Stamper Magazine (February Issue) and this "Canvas" project was in it. The designer is Kate Crane, her style is really quirky and so good and her colour choices are just lovely.

(OMG yet another disastrous photo, sorry)

Angie and I spent around 4 hours making our canvases from scratch, we started by painting them three colours, blue, green and white. We used Acrylic paints and just painted them with not much precision. We then had to leave it for a while to dry, roughly 40 Min's.

Wine Time!! lol Any excuse for a bottle of Australia's finest "Willy Willy", before you start making any innuendo let me tell you it means "A wind" in OZ! And is a lovely tasting red wine!

Once dry we stamped circles onto it with white paint and splatters with memento ink, You could actually use any stamps that were background types, we had bits of branches off a tree stamp and stems off flowers, and I had a hero arts block stamp that looks like a coffee spill, perfect for this project, anything like that really.

We then set about stamping, colouring and cutting out the Monster and the Shrooms (as the Mushrooms are called). These were all coloured with Tim Holtz distressed inks, then stuck to the canvas.
The Sentiment was pc generated, a touch of Tim Holtz tissue paper was added to the bottom of the canvas to give some interest.
Done! I just love it and had such fun making it with Ang.

The Stamps are available from Art from the Heart
Stampotique Key Keeper
Stampotique Giant Shroom
Canvas: 6x6 from the local Art shop
Acrylic Paints
Tim Holtz distress inks in broken china, brushed cord, wild honey and lipstick.

All instructions available in February's Craft Stamper Magazine, a brilliant magazine full of ideas, and usually with a free stamp attached, it's a free Heart on this months cover. All for £4.50.

A Big Hello to all my Lovely New Followers, nice to see you.

Eve and Matthew Playing~

Hello Girls

Hope I find you all well.
With all my jobs done and out the way, I have had time today for a play.
I was desperate to do a bit of Scrapbooking, not done any for ages and I was beginning to get withdrawal symptoms.LOL

I have entered the sketch over at Scrap365 with my Layout. Did you know Scrap 365 is a fantastic New Scrapbook magazine and is just perfect if you want to have a go at making some beautiful pages for all your memories.

This is a really old photo of my two children, the date on the back said 6.8.1993. My Daughter Eve is about two and a half on the photo, and last weekend she celebrated her 21st Birthday, so quite a while ago when this photo was taken. I love the way they were always playing together, she was just so fantastic with him, don't think she ever resented him for one minute, she was like a little mother hen (nothing has changed!) and Matthew has always loved her to bits, even now at 19 he asks her opinion on such alot of subjects, I am so proud of both of them, they are lovely children.

I have followed the sketch at 365 and have used a sheet of MME paper called Hip Hooray (spotty paper) and also a sheet of Dream street paper called Fresh.
This is the first time I have made one of these pleated flowers and I am quite pleased at how it has turned out and was much easier to make than i thought.
The chipboard "Laugh" is by K&co and I have used Inks and a number mask in a couple of the corners. The small circles are created with a wine cork!

Man's Best Friend~

Hello Girls,

Another week bites the dust and it's Saturday which means challenge time at Sweet Stampin. Our sponsors this week are Di's Digi's, go take a look at the great images.

I have had this wee dog stamped for ages but just never got round to colouring him in, so decided that with this weeks challenge being "Animals" I would go for it. I am quite please with him, especially the gorgeous papers from my leftover stash (I am trying hard to use up my bits n' bobs of paper)!
I have also used one of my new Prima Buttons. Kept it simple, like this sketch tho', and I love these colours together. Finished off with a red ribbon and bow, and a few Hobbyhouse pearls. Dog is coloured with Pro-Markers. Got a couple of "Men's" Birthdays coming up, so think I will keep this for one of them!!

Birthday Fairy Lee~

Hi Girls~

Hope I find you all well. Can I say a "Big Thank" you to all my lovely followers, I really love all your sweet comments, you are all stars!

I adore Mo's images and this little fairy is one of the new stamps I bought in September last year. I have been very naughty not using her, and when the latest challenge at DP2 came up (and it was stitching) I thought I would use her!
I have chosen to do some mock stitching on this card, even though I like to use my sewing machine to do "real" stitching, I like doing both, so it's "fake" today!!

My papers are blue, even though on the dreadful photo, sorry, they look green.
The papers are My Mind's Eye Hip-Hooray, and Prima Reflections, I have inked the edges with a Versa Magic chalk ink pad in Aegean Blue and the butterflies are taken from the paper. My image is coloured with Pro-Markers, the little sentiment is a Craftwork Cards and the edge punch is a MS.

Valentines Day isn't far off!!

Hello Ladies~

A very cold but Crisp and dry day today, sun is out again, so all good in my book.

I have got in quick to make my Valentine's card for hubby.
January and February are busy card making times for me, so when I can I try to get ahead like with this card.

I love this Penny Black "Ducks" image, think it's so cute. I have used it for an Anniversary card as well as a Valentine's and think it is perfect for a luvy duvy card!!

I have used some leftover papers from my stash, a MS heart border punch, some sparkly black ribbon and Nestie shaped heart dies. Image needs hardly any colouring, but I have used some lemon/orange for feet and beaks, and a bit of grey to highlight feather areas, used Pro-Markers for this.

Something a bit different~

Hello Girls,

What a lovely crisp, cold but sunny day here, hope it is nice where you are too.

My lovely Daughter Eve and her boyfriend Sean have gone off on holiday skiing today, when she returns (next Saturday evening) she will be 21 the day after....Oh how time flies, I remember her first day at school as if it were yesterday! I could get a bit teary when I think of it, but so much to do before she gets back....No time for all that, get a grip girl!!

I have finished the bunting for the wall, bought all the cake stuff, icing, cupcake cases, "21" cake topper, feathers etc, have bought the nibbles (in freezer) and am in the throws of cleaning the house (Yak, hate that bit!!) Pressie's are all bought, personalised number plate ready to pop on her car (off Sean!), card made...Doing ok!

I have had a good play this afternoon while watching Create and Craft. The woman on doing the demo's "Helen" I think she was called, was using Tim Holtz Grunge Paper and I took a fancy to what she was doing, so out came mine and inks and vintage lace etc, and I ended up doing this project...Hope you like it.

The "E" is for my Daughter Eve, thought I would put this with her other pressies, she loves my handmade craft items, so know she will like this, and I have chosen green as the base colour as her bedroom is green and brown.
I have used Tim's Alterations Die (Sewing Room) dress form, love this, and used some Hobbyhouse vintage roses ribbon, and pins. I have stamped over the "E" with my set of My Mind's Eye Lost and Found stamps. The flowers are made with grunge paper, Tim's Tatty flowers Die and inked up, all finished with a bit of copper stickles.

Sweet Stampin DT card.

Hello Girls,

As it's Saturday, there is a New Challenge over at "Sweet Stampin" this week and its "Glitter/Shine/Bling". Our Sponsors this week are Emerald Faeries, and this is one of their gorgeous images, hope you like her.

Sorry about the dreadful photo, will try to do better next time!!

I won the Challenge over at "Simon Says Stamp" just before Christmas, and I was delighted to be asked to choose $50 worth of Goodies!! How exciting. After a wee look around the shop (lots of gorgeous stuff) I made my choice and placed my order. I was totally shocked when my parcel arrived just a few days after.....THAT'S SOOOO QUICK.
Thank you to Lols and all at Simon Says.

I have used the papers I won on the challenge and these are Basic Grey "Piccadilly" pad. I have also used one of my favorite PATP Martha Stewart punches. The image is coloured with Pro-Markers.

That's all folks!!

Laundry Girl~

Hello Girls~

Had a nice walk again yesterday, it stayed dry for Christine and me and only started spitting as we were almost home, so good stuff.
Today is first Zumba class this year (going at 1.30 today).....I have been getting back into it with my own Wii version, so feel ok about going back.
Christine is a bit apprehensive (as It it her first time there, but she will do great I am sure!).

I have made today's card for my lovely Sister's Birthday. It is not until next month, but I wanted to get ahead as I have a busy January planned!!

I love GF stamps, like the way they are quite a "chunky" image, this makes them easier to colour, or PP which is one of my favorite things to do at the moment (although I did not do that on this image, but did do it on the SN image in my last post!)

My papers are from all from my stash (no idea what make sorry!) The lovely clock circle is made using the Alterations die by Tim Holtz, pearls are Hobbyhouse, sentiment is by craftwork cards and the image is coloured with Pro-markers.

Paper Piecing~

Hi Girls, Me again!!
I have done quite a bit today, including a walk with my friend Christine, (and we are off again tomorrow too!)
I am hoping the walking and the Zumba on Wednesday will start to get me a bit fitter (not fatter!!)~

As the title suggests, my latest card has been Paper Pieced.
I just love doing this, and I came up with matching paper and hopefully you will agree with me that the paper chosen looks like the little boy is wearing "Pyjamas"!!

This beautiful Sugar Nellie Stamp called "Worried" has always been a stamp I wanted from the first time I saw it, but I just never got round to buying it. Last year when I won three sugar Nellie stamps from Fiona, I asked if this could be one of them, so glad she agreed as I love it, thank you Fi.

I have used a mix of papers, all leftovers from my stash, a LOTV sentiment and a few eyelets. The image is coloured with Pro-Markers.

Hope you like my latest card.
I have had this little Bildmalarna stamp for a while now and just not used it. Isn't she sweet?
I have used some leftover papers from my stash, and I have distressed the edges, I have added a couple of buntings from Craftwork Cards, some Marianne die "Roll up" roses (+ Hobbyhouse tiny roses).
