What's that coming over the hill.....

IS IT A MONSTER!! IS IT A MONSTER!!

Well were you all singing the "Monster Song" by Automatic?

I am, and I just love this monster by Stampotique.
My friend Angie and I bought a copy of Craft Stamper Magazine (February Issue) and this "Canvas" project was in it. The designer is Kate Crane, her style is really quirky and so good and her colour choices are just lovely.

(OMG yet another disastrous photo, sorry)

Angie and I spent around 4 hours making our canvases from scratch, we started by painting them three colours, blue, green and white. We used Acrylic paints and just painted them with not much precision. We then had to leave it for a while to dry, roughly 40 Min's.

Wine Time!! lol Any excuse for a bottle of Australia's finest "Willy Willy", before you start making any innuendo let me tell you it means "A wind" in OZ! And is a lovely tasting red wine!

Once dry we stamped circles onto it with white paint and splatters with memento ink, You could actually use any stamps that were background types, we had bits of branches off a tree stamp and stems off flowers, and I had a hero arts block stamp that looks like a coffee spill, perfect for this project, anything like that really.

We then set about stamping, colouring and cutting out the Monster and the Shrooms (as the Mushrooms are called). These were all coloured with Tim Holtz distressed inks, then stuck to the canvas.
The Sentiment was pc generated, a touch of Tim Holtz tissue paper was added to the bottom of the canvas to give some interest.
Done! I just love it and had such fun making it with Ang.

The Stamps are available from Art from the Heart
Stampotique Key Keeper
Stampotique Giant Shroom
Canvas: 6x6 from the local Art shop
Acrylic Paints
Tim Holtz distress inks in broken china, brushed cord, wild honey and lipstick.

All instructions available in February's Craft Stamper Magazine, a brilliant magazine full of ideas, and usually with a free stamp attached, it's a free Heart on this months cover. All for £4.50.

A Big Hello to all my Lovely New Followers, nice to see you.
