My 50th Birthday Scrap-page LO~

Hello Ladies~

Oh dear I am full of with cold, it only came on the day before yesterday and I just cannot stop sneezing. I am ok in myself, my fuzzy head is slightly better than yesterday...it has not stopped me doing anything but having this week off work, I could have done without it...
I am off out tonight. It's a friends Birthday and I have been invited for a few drinks at her house (Oh I can feel a "Vase" of G&T coming on!!)

I am taking this Scrapbook LO page with me tonight, a few of the girls who are in the photo will be there and they have not seen it.
I had a bit of a vision on how I wanted this page to look, and in the latest Scrapbook Inspirations magazine I saw something quite similar and so this is what I eventually came up with.

It's been ages since I have done any Scrapbooking, and I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms, I love to use my papers in this way. I have been slightly carried away with cards lately, so it was so nice to do this LO today.

The papers I have used are a mix of K&Co and PaperMania, and the bunting is made with my new Hero Art stamp, as you can see I made a bit of a wheel with it too.
Round the edge of the circle and the border I have used my MS punch.
For the "fancy" edge around the circle I cut my 12x12 paper into 2" strips and then punched one edge,I then drew a sort of "bucket" shape and cut it out. This does not have to be accurate, as long as it's thinner at the bottom to give a fan type shape. I then use this shape to make all the other "buckets", I think I have used about 16 of them, but this will vary on the size of the circle. I have then inked the edges with Walnut stain. I added double sided tape to the back of the circle and then overlapped all the "buckets" going around from one side to the other...The only thing you have got to make sure of, is that you keep the edges that show over the top of the circle, the same length so it looks nice and even.
Hope I have made that clear...I am not very good at explaining, better at showing!
I am really pleased with the finished result, although the photograph could have done with being a bit clearer and brighter~

Would you believe I did find 2 challenges for this page~

Oh Debbie what a truly gorgeous page. I haven't done any scrapping for ages.
Hope you feel better soon, I'm full of cold too & even resorted to "night nurse" for the last couple of nights, think I could do with every night as I never sleep well.
Have a lovely evening

It looks so much like a lace doillie I really thought that is what you hade used.Very fiddily I should imagine and a lot of patience needed. Hope you enjoyed your evening out with the girls.
